On the hunt for the perfect cable knit turtleneck sweater? We have you covered.
The GiGi line creates unique, high quality knitwear for women that features special artisanal elements.
Founder and creative director Galya Gundalova and her team at GiGi work with a family-owned factory in Bulgaria located in a small mountain village south of Sofia. The town is known for its local crafts, including embroidery and detailed handwork.
This cultural thread is incorporated into each piece that they create, sustaining these valued artisan techniques. Each garment is made of mindfully sourced, high quality fine merino wool.
For over a decade, Galya has worked as a creative in the fashion industry, lending her talents to several notable brands including Tabitha Simmons, Proenza Schouler, Phillip Lim and Rosetta Getty. Encouraged and inspired by her own father’s entrepreneurial spirit in founding a factory working with local Bulgarian artisans, Galya decided to create GiGi.
This close connection between designer and artisan is a unique quality and one that August Women holds in high regard as we scour the globe for brands that are deeply connected to their craft and adhere to ethical standards.
